The Consorzio di Tutela Vini Valle d'Aosta emerged as an official and legally recognized entity on a momentous Friday, March 25, 2022, marking the culmination of years of dedicated effort by Vival (Val d'Aosta Winemakers Association). Vival had tirelessly championed the cause of Valle d'Aosta region, safeguarding and nurturing their legacy. The transition to a Consortium was propelled by the burgeoning Aosta Valley wine sector, alongside the escalating interest from Italian, European, and global markets in its exceptional wines.

Nowadays, a union of 48 companies within the Consorzio Vini Valle d'Aosta encapsulates approximately 97% of the regional  wine production. A staggering 1.5 million bottles are annually produced across the Aosta Valley, destined for both national and international markets.

The consortium's dynamic role encompasses a multitude of functions, including fostering activities, events, and demonstrations aimed at propelling Aosta Valley viticulture onto the global stage. Protection and preservation of Aosta Valley viticulture remain central to its mission. The consortium is also vested in proposing regional interventions, advancing technical, organizational, and financial strategies, and enhancing the agri-food market in synergy with the Valle d'Aosta tourism sector. It extends its support to the budding "vignerons" (winemakers) of the region and serves as a nucleus for the exchange of ideas to further the understanding of Aosta Valley wine.
