The International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to scientific and technical aspects of viticulture and winemaking. Founded in 2001 as the successor to the International Vine and Wine Office (Office International de la Vigne et du Vin), the OIV currently comprises 50 member countries. Its headquarters are situated in Dijon, France—a location befitting an organization focused on wine. The OIV conducts its operations in five official languages: French, Spanish, English, Italian, and German. Currently, the OIV organizational structure consists of a General Assembly, Executive Committee, Steering Committee, OIV Scientific and Technical Committee, Director General and General secretariat.
