The Pays Nantais sub-region is located in the Loire Valley region, and extends from the Atlantic coast bordering the French region of Brittany to the Anjou wine appellation.

Due to its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, the climate of the region is markedly maritime. For this reason, summers are usually hot and humid, but in spite of this, temperatures are not very high, but rather mild: while minimum temperatures usually hover around 6°C, maximum temperatures do not usually exceed 20°C. In addition, the region records an average annual rainfall of 788 mm, the wettest month being January.

In this region, the soil is mainly rocky, with mica schist, granite and green stone among its components. It also has very good drainage, which ensures the production of high quality wines, with a unique mineral touch.
