about this subregion

Nestled in the heart of Italy's rugged eastern coastline lies the picturesque region of Abruzzo, a place where the land, sea, and mountains merge in a poetic dance of nature. Among the many treasures birthed by this harmonious confluence is the Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC, a wine that captures the essence of its birthplace with every sip.

This wine designation owes its distinctive character to the pristine environment of Abruzzo. Here, the Apennine Mountains stretch their protective arms, shielding the vineyards from the chill northern winds, while the Adriatic Sea breathes its gentle breezes, tempering the summer heat. It's a unique microclimate, where the grapes are nurtured by a combination of altitudinal coolness and coastal warmth, fostering a balance of acidity and ripeness in the fruits.

At the heart of the Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOC are its primary grape varieties, Trebbiano Toscano and Trebbiano Abruzzese. These grapes, each with their distinct personality, come together to craft a wine that is both refreshingly crisp and deeply aromatic. The Trebbiano Toscano brings forth a lively acidity and citrus undertones, while the Trebbiano Abruzzese, a native gem, adds a hint of floral and fruitier notes.

When you pour a glass of Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOC, you are not merely savoring a wine; you are immersing yourself in the story of a region, its environment, and its traditions. With every drop, you are transported to the sun-kissed slopes of Abruzzo, where generations of vintners have tended to their vines, drawing from the land's bounty and the wisdom of their forebears to produce a wine that is a true testament to its roots.
