The Pénedes DO is located in the northeast of Spain, on the Mediterranean coast, and has 3 geographical sub-regions: Baix-Penedès, Mitja-Penedès and Alt-Penedès.
It has a Mediterranean climate with warm and mild temperatures, a maximum altitude of 800 meters and 500 mm of annual rainfall. Despite this, Pénedes has different microclimates, with Baix Penedes being the most temperate and Alt-Penedès the most rainy.
