The Romagna DOC, that is part of the Emilia-Romagna wine region, covers wines produced in three provinces: Forlì-Cesena, Ravenna and Rimini. The three provinces are located in the northeast of Italy, near the coast of the Adriatic Sea.
The region's climate is tropical and receives rainfall throughout the year. The vineyards closer to the coast are usually affected by storms, and although the summer is hot and humid, an ideal scenario for mildew to affect the vines, the cool breezes that the region receives help prevent this fungus.
The region's soils, on the other hand, are predominantly sandy and have good drainage.
