about this subregion

The Terre di Casole DOC, nestled in the heart of Tuscany, is a testament to the profound relationship between wine and its environment. This region, with its rolling hills and ancient history, offers a distinctive terrain that has long been revered for its capacity to produce wines of unparalleled character.

The soils of Terre di Casole are rich with a mosaic of minerals, bequeathed by nature's millennia-long geological dance. This fertility, combined with the gentle embrace of the Mediterranean climate – with its warm summers and mild winters – has paved the way for vineyards to flourish.

Sangiovese, the region's most planted red grape variety, is emblematic of the Tuscan identity. In Terre di Casole, this varietal reaches new depths, producing wines with a harmonious balance between acidity and tannins, characterized by notes of cherry, plum, and subtle earthiness. The Sangiovese's versatility also allows it to be the cornerstone in many of the region's blends, where it intertwines with other varietals to create symphonies of flavor.

Chardonnay stands as the reigning white grape, its international acclaim finding a unique expression in this DOC. The vines capture the essence of the land, resulting in wines that harmonize citrus and floral notes with a delicate minerality.

In Terre di Casole DOC, every sip tells a story of its environment: an ode to the land, the climate, and the passionate hands that nurture every vine.
