At the heart of this DOC is the unique climate of Chianti Classico: warm, sun-soaked days and crisp, cool nights, a combination that ensures the grapes achieve perfect ripeness while retaining their essential acidity. The region's calcareous-clay soils, enriched by centuries of farming and blessed with a natural drainage system, provide a fertile bed for grapevines to flourish.
While Chianti Classico is globally recognized for its predominant red grape, Sangiovese, which crafts wines of profound depth and elegance, the Vin Santo del Chianti Classico DOC stands apart, focusing on the region's white grape varieties.
