The Merlara DOC, located in the Veneto wine region, includes vineyards in the Terrazzo, Bevilacqua, and Boschi S. Anna areas, in the province of Verona, as well as a portion of Montagna in the province of Padua.

The area has a temperate-Mediterranean climate. As a result, summers are scorching and winters are pleasant.  On the other side, while receiving little precipitation, it falls evenly throughout the year.

Sandier soils with varied silt contents predominate more than other soil types in this area.  The ideal soils also include a significant amount of clay and are deep.
