The Touraine wine region extends from west to east. It starts in the Anjou region and ends in Sologne, covering 6 communes located on the right bank of the Loire river.

The climate of Touraine varies according to the area: While an oceanic climate predominates in the west, as one moves eastward, the climate becomes more continental.

Regarding soils, the soil of Touraine is mainly made up of limestone and a top layer of flinty clay or sand and gravel. In addition, within the region there is a great diversity of soils, such as fluvial alluvial gravels or tuff.
