Discover Terroir

As its name suggests, the Collio Goriziano DOC covers the hills surrounding the Gorizia region, encompassing Slovenia's border. This DOC is part of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia wine region.

In this region, there are several types of climates. The most important is the humid subtropical climate in the coastal plains, the continental climate in the hills and the markedly alpine climate in the mountainous areas. In addition, cool breezes from the Adriatic coast help prevent fungi such as mildew from affecting the vines.

On the other hand, the soil of Collio Goriziano is composed mainly of calcareous marl combined with flysch sandstone.
